  • WILD GAME DINNER
    • Sold out event from year to year
    • Profits go to land acquisition account and to pay for lease property
  • HUNTER SAFETY
    • Club held three Hunter Safety classes in 2019
    • Have eight instructors at the club
    • Bob Bagdon named Southwest Hunter Safety Instructor of the Year
  • SPRING GUN BASH
    • Held our own bash in May at Youngwood Fire Hall
    • Proceeds go to general fund to support club programs
  • YHEC
    • Had 35 youth participate in this year’s program
    • Runs for 13 weeks during the spring
    • Exposes youth to archery, muzzleloader, shotgun, wildlife ID and rifle
    • Program runs from 1-5 on Sundays
  • YOUTH FISHING DERBY
    • Derby held in April this year for kids up to 15 years old
    • 82 children participated this year
  • YOUTH PHEASANT HUNT
    • 22 youth hunters participated this year
    • October event
    • All youth hunted over members dogs
  • VETERANS DAY HUNT
    • 10 veterans spent the morning of Veteran’s Day pheasant hunting
  • TWI-NIGHT TRAP LEAGUE
    • 25 week long league that rotates between five different clubs
    • Shoot every Thursday night from March to September
    • Team held annual banquet in September
  • OPEN TRAP
    • Open trap every Tuesday at 5:00
    • Open from early March until participation declines in late fall
    • Green Bird special- break a green bird and receive a free round
  • TRAPPER PROGRAM
    • Day long program held in September
    • Sponsored by the Pa Trappers Assn
    • Participants learned trapping techniques
    • Open to the public

 

  • NIGHT WITH THE GAME COMMISSION AND STATE REPS
    • Members had the opportunity meet with and talk about current topics
    • Attended by Dennis Fredericks and Tom Fazi of the Game Commission
    • Attended by State Reps Mike Reese, Eric Nelson and Justin Walsh
  • CHRISTMAS SPECIAL TICKET
    • Fall fundraiser

NEW PROGRAMS

  • WOMEN IN THE OUTDOORS
    • Held an event in May exclusively for women
    • Participants were exposed to shooting shotguns, handguns and rifles including AR15’s
    • Sponsored by Wild Turkey Federation and NRA
  • YHEC REGIONAL SHOOT
    • Club held the Western Pa Regional Shoot in May
    • Attended by 100 youth from multiple clubs
    • Members set up five shotgun stations, walk thru archery, muzzleloader and rifle stations for the attendees
    • Pavilion and upper garage were transformed into wildlife ID areas
    • Overall attendance was approximately 300 people

    • Program for students to expose them to shotgun, rifle and archery
    • Sponsored by Safari Club

 

PROPERTY AND EQUIPMENT

  • SIDE BY SIDE PURCHASE
    • Purchased Bobcat side by side to assist in property maintenance, pheasant stocking, loading of trap houses and other needs
  • REPAIR ROADWAY TO RANGES
    • Repaired and stabilized roadway to ranges using super blocks to prevent road erosion
  • NEW PICNIC TABLES IN PACVILLION
    • Purchased 12 new picnic table for use at pavilion
  • ENLARGED HANDICAP PARKING AT RIFLE RANGE
    • Added stone for second handicap space at 100 range
  • NEW ROOF ON PISTOL RANGE
    • Replaced leaky roof on pistol range
    • NOTE: ROOF WOULD NOT HAVE NEEDED REPLACED IF HOLES HADEN’T BEEN SHOT IN IT
  • BRUSH CUT BETWEEN MUZZLELOADER AND RIFLE RANGES
    • Cut heavy brush and trees between muzzleloader and small bore ranges
    • Will improve visibility between ranges
  • TRACTOR DISCS/ PLANTINGS
    • Purchased discs for tractor to till soil for field planting
    • Plowed and planted all fields
  • MISC REPAIRS
    • Painted all picnic tables
    • Installed handrail on walk bridge to small field
    • Repaired parking lot washout at rifle ranges multiple times due to heavy spring rains
    • Power wash and paint out house
    • Repaired doors on trap houses
    • Re-painted numbers on trap ranges
    • Repaired gutters on garage
    • Created implement storage area for tractor attachments
    • Replaced all archery targets
    • Repaired hole in roadway at entrance

 

MEMBERSHIP

  • 2019 RENEWALS DONE ON WEBSITE
    • 2019 was first time renewals were done on line
    • Highest renewal rate in the last 10 years
  • 2020 RENEWAL FORMAT CHANGE
    • Allows members the opportunity to print a membership card if they choose to
    • By using 2109 emails we collected we sent an email to remind members 2020 dues were due the club save approximately $3000 dollars in paper and postage
  • 2020 DUES
    • Dues increase and higher initiation was approved by membership in August

 

SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Our Facebook page is designed to notify members of upcoming events occurring at the club or other things related to the outdoors.
  • It can also be used to share photos of happenings at the club
  • In NO way will it be used to share club business or as a replacement for attending monthly meetings
  • Any posts of that type will be deleted by the administrator.
